How we verify
Texas PEO Finder is compiled from public records, not from who paid to be listed.
Sources
- TDLR license data (data.texas.gov 7358-krk7) — Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation license file: license type, number, business name and address, phone and expiry date.
- TDLR Professional Employer Organizations program — The state's PEO program page: license types, requirements, rules and license search.
We load the TDLR license file and keep records whose license type begins with “Professional Employer Organization”, which covers full and limited licenses. We keep those whose expiry date is on or after the day we checked and that list a phone number. Expired licenses are dropped, not flagged.
A license listing says that TDLR's file shows a current license for that business name and address. It does not say anything about service quality, price or financial strength, and it can lag behind TDLR's own system. Confirm on the TDLR license search.
Firms are listed by the business location on the license. Many Texas-licensed PEOs are headquartered elsewhere, so state pages include them. We do not rate, rank or recommend PEOs.
What a badge means
TDLR license active: the firm has a Professional Employer Organization license (full or limited) in the TDLR open data file, with an expiry date on or after the day we checked. We only publish positive matches. A listing without a badge is not an accusation — most gaps are name variations between registries.
Freshness
